HOW FTF WORKS

While assisting the foster candidates in their application, FTF will:

Pair a current college student within the foster candidate’s preferred branch to advise and befriend the foster candidate during the application process.
Offer tutoring to build up knowledge, study habits, and confidence in each foster candidate.
Provide internship and shadowing opportunities so our foster candidates will have unique real-world experience and a boost in the admission process.
Provide a list of volunteer work near the foster candidate's place of residence.
Provide a list of scholarship options for the foster candidates and help foster candidates complete the requirements for scholarships they choose to pursue.
Advise high school freshman, sophomore, and junior foster candidates on course selection.

Once the foster candidate enters college, FTF will remain to be their support system by:

Maintaining a community of friendship of students, professors, and alumni with the goal of providing for any need its foster candidates develop while attending college.
Accumulating money to be used by the admitted foster candidates for acceptable expenses not covered by the State of Texas, National Government, or any entity other than Foundation of the Fosters.
